Tolt is a modern, well-designed affiliate platform, and it does something we respect: it includes a custom domain on its entry plan. But two things make it expensive in practice. The entry price is $69/month โ the second-highest on our list โ and Tolt documents a 2% processing fee on the total amount of your payouts, on top of the subscription. PromoteBoost is free until $10,000/month in affiliate revenue, $49/month after that, and takes 0% of your payouts.

Tolt's own help documentation states a 2% processing fee on the total payout amount, plus $8 per bank transfer and 5% per card payment to fund the account. That fee scales with your success rather than with your usage. If you pay out $20,000 to affiliates in a month, the 2% fee is $400 โ on top of the subscription, and on top of whatever funding fees apply. PromoteBoost charges 0% on payouts. Whatever your commission structure says an affiliate has earned is what leaves your account, and the only thing you pay us is the flat subscription. Over a year, on a program of any real size, the fee line alone can exceed the entire cost of PromoteBoost Pro.
Tolt has no free plan. Basic is $69/month, which allows up to $10,000/month in affiliate revenue, 2 programs and 3 team members โ and on that tier, payouts are manual only. Automated payouts arrive on Growth at $99/month, which raises the revenue cap to $20,000/month, and Pro is $199/month up to $50,000/month. PromoteBoost's Free plan covers that same $10,000/month revenue ceiling for $0, with unlimited affiliates, unlimited campaigns and unlimited referrals. The comparison at the entry level is $828 a year against nothing.
Manual payouts are the part of running an affiliate program that quietly consumes your month: reconciling amounts, checking who is owed what, sending each transfer, fielding the emails from affiliates asking where their money is. On Tolt Basic at $69/month, that work stays on your plate โ automated payouts start at Growth, $99/month. PromoteBoost Pro is $49/month and includes automated payouts via PayPal, Wise, crypto and bank transfer, plus white-label branding, a custom domain, affiliate coupon codes, unlimited history and priority support. Half the price of Tolt Growth, with the automation included and without the 2% skim.
Tolt supports Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee. If you are on Paddle or Chargebee, that breadth matters and you should weigh it. If you are on Stripe โ which most SaaS companies are โ PromoteBoost's native integration through Stripe Connect and direct webhooks gives you configurable cookie windows from 1 to 365 days, Stripe promo-code tracking, sub-ID attribution, recurring commissions capped at X months or for life, two-tier commissions, automatic self-referral detection, a public marketplace, inbound webhooks for Shopify and Kajabi, and an API.

Tolt includes a custom domain on its entry Basic plan, which most competitors reserve for a $99 tier โ that is a genuinely good decision on their part. It also supports Paddle and Chargebee alongside Stripe, so if your billing runs through one of those, Tolt covers a case we do not.
Choose Tolt if you bill through Paddle or Chargebee rather than Stripe โ that is a real functional gap on our side and no amount of pricing advantage closes it. Otherwise, the maths is hard to argue with: $69/month plus a documented 2% payout fee, against free up to $10,000/month and then $49/month with 0% fees.
